Understanding my Benefits
Long term care policies have several variables. The only way to know for certain what your policy will pay for and how much it might pay is to look at your current Schedule of Benefits. Under /policy/ we have a glossary of terms to help you. Or, you can book a consult with one of our specialists to review and answer questions. If you are considering a claim, that consult is at no charge. If you just need a policy review or are facing a rate increase, we do charge a small fee for that service.

Denied claims can often be appealed. You have to know why the claim was denied in the first place and then provide new evidence to prove that you meet the policy criteria. The denial letter will have significant details and can be helpful in understanding the reason for the denial and the correct information for an appeal. We can review this with you in our no-charge consult.

Customer Reviews for Mrs. LTC
Posted on Susan FiserTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. In February of 2025 we had to place my mother in a nursing home because of memory loss deeming it unsafe for her to be cared for in her home. She had a current nursing home policy with start date in 2004. When the nursing home filed with the insurance company, my mother's care was denied on grounds she was not severe enough. I am an RN, and tried professionally discussing my mother's needs and how we were no longer able to care for her at home, even with a part time private nurse, with one of the care team at the insurance company, but they wouldn't budge. I contacted a local attorney, who recommended Stana Martin of Mrs. LTC. Immediately Stana put me at ease, informing me that often times these claims are denied the first time. She reviewed the denial, and began putting together a case for my mother, telling me what records we needed and that my mom needed to see a neurologist or neuropsychiatrist for testing which would give objective data to use in our case. She kept me on task for what I needed to provide her, emailing or texting me to see how things were coming. Stana then wrote the appeal letter for us for a very reasonable fee. She gave me timelines on when things should occur and when I should follow up with the insurance company. They denied coverage a second time in August. I was emotionally drained & frustrated, and honestly ready to give up. Stana understood and encouraged me to keep fighting for what was right. It was then that she suggested writing a letter to the insurance commissioner from our state. Together we gathered some additional information, constructed a letter to the insurance commissioner, and Stana sent it and additional documentation to their office. Within 3 weeks we found out that the insurance company had honored the appeal because of "additional information" that we provided. Back monthly bills were paid as well, within the scope of our stated policy. 5 stars are not enough for Stana! I cannot express enough how I did not know how or where to start this process without her! She has a ton of knowledge, kindness, and love, concern, and compassion for persons who are not being treated fairly by the insurance community. If you have a parent or friend in this position, do yourself a favor and call her!Posted on Diane BomzeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mrs LTC helped us with a difficult problem with clarity and ease. I would highly recommend this company. DianePosted on Elaine KasparTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Stana Martin and her company Mrs LTC. I had no idea at the start of the claims process how much follow up, paperwork, and research was involved in shepherding a Long Term Policy Claim. Plus when you call the insurance company they rarely give you a straight answer to your questions. I found they often read me the portion of the policy that dealt with my question with no interpretation. And legal language in insurance policies are always open to interpretation. Stana's experience with multiple companys & policies was so helpful in understanding what they really meant. When you are struggling to be a care partner to a loved one, dealing with insurance claims is especially stressful. Nick gave us invaluable advice and directions how to navigate getting our LTC claim approved. I'm very grateful for her help.Posted on kathy o'sullivanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Mrs. LTC. It is daunting and stressful enough figuring out how best to help an ailing family member - itself an unplanned for part-time job (for which none of us are trained). While fantastic when that person had the foresight to purchase a long term care insurance policy, figuring out byzantine coverage terms, and all that's involved to apply, then managing administration from there becomes another part-time job. A bureaucratically mind-bending and tedious one at that. It was well worth the investment to have Stana at our side - guiding us, and also calling insurance people and assisted living staff, over and over for months, to make sure nothing fell into the cracks. And there are a lot of places things can mysteriously go wrong, at no fault of a diligent family or claimant. Happily - claim approved and paying, and now we feel competent to take on the long-term management of it ourselves. Thank you Stana. (I also recommend her book about LTC.)Posted on Holly WoodTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I didn’t know that you could get help working with the Long Term Health Insurance companies. My brother met someone that had worked with Stana before. How lucky are we?! Stana is a godsend. My mom’s Long Term Health Insurance company was determined not to pay. Stana took them to the Illinois review board and got a favorable ruling and they FINALLY started paying. Watching her work is amazing. I had given up and didn’t think there was a way and never took ‘no’ as an answer. Wondering if your insurance company will pay? Give her a try!!! What do you have to lose? And the stand back and watch this amazing woman work her magic.Posted on Jim HemplemanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Stana and Mrs LTC. Due to age and illness, my mom needed to move to an Assisted Living facility in our town. Repeated requests to her LTC insurance company, Country Companies, were like banging our heads against the wall. Our friend recommended and introduced us to Stana. It took a while because CC was incorrectly standing their ground, but she got us across the finish line! My family and I are forever grateful for her tenaciousness and follow through. She knows the process better than I ever will and was worth her weight in gold. Do not hesitate to use her.Posted on Kim SchulteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nick was so attentive and helpful! I am so grateful that I had Nick to help me navigate the confusing claims process. Nick also managed to help me determine what was an allowable claim and how to make sure future care services meet the policy definitions. Thank you! I am so grateful for your assistance and honesty!!! I will definitely call again if I need more help!Posted on Matt PallaverTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Stana and staff are quite skilled with LTD contracts and their review and advice can easily save 100x their very reasonable rate. I used their service to review and comprehend a CNA LTD agreement for dad and save about $30k in cash by developing a strategy for the elimination period.Posted on Preston HallTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Kent was an absolute pleasure to work with while processing my mother’s long-term care insurance claims with Transamerica. He was extremely thorough and detail-oriented, making sure every document and step was handled correctly. Most importantly, he was communicative and patient throughout the process — always keeping me updated, answering questions promptly, and making what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and manageable. I truly appreciated his professionalism and care.
